Kauai Department of Public Works
The Department of Public Works consist of seven divisions: Administration, Automotive Repair Shop, Building, Engineering, Highways & Roads Construction, Solid Waste Management, and Wastewater Management. Public Works are responsible for the planning, design, and construction of all new improvements to County-owned facilities, excluding Department of Water projects. The maintenance, repair and upkeep of all County facilities, roads, and vehicles; the collection and disposal of garbage and refuse, the collection and treatment of sewage, the permitting, reviewing and enforcement of various codes and other regulations pertaining to public and private construction work are also responsibilities of this Department.
