Dear Mr. Black, Please be informed that I am the Acting State Public Defender (effective October 28, 2019). I am writing this e-mail message in response to your request for records. First, I must apologize for the delay in responding to your e-mail/request. Please excuse my ignorance, but I am not exactly sure what you are requesting. I am attaching what I believe is the UIPA Record Request Log our office submitted to OIP. As you can see from a review of the log, the Public Defender Office did not have any requests during the latest time period. If I am sending the wrong document, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via email or by phone. Sincerely, James S. Tabe Acting State Public Defender 808.586.2208

Aloha Mr. Tabe, that is the type of document that I am seeking. But according to the data previously uploaded to data.hawaii.gov, the Office of the Public Defender received two record requests during the first half of FY 19 (July 1 - December 31, 2018). Although this document may be correct for the second half of the fiscal year, there must be a separate Excel spreadsheet for the first half. Best, Brian
