Aloha Mr. Black,
Thank you for your continued patience. We apologize as the person that manages our UIPA processes was briefly out on sick leave due to a family matter. We are hopeful that we will be able to send you the completed log tomorrow. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thank you for sending this. To confirm, the Governor did not receive any requests for records in the second half of FY 2024? The last recorded request on this log is October 12, 2023. I had requested logs for requests through June 30, 2024.
Best,
Brian

Aloha Mr. Black,
Please see the attached UIPA excel log responsive to your request. We sincerely apologize for the oversight as it seems that the version previously provided was an earlier draft with a similar naming convention rather than the completed log. We apologize for the confusion and are ensuring that we have provided the completed version here.

Mahalo nui. I have a question about the first entry (7/3 request by BI). Did the office actually spend 300 hours in search and review of records or is that the estimated time for purposes of a notice to requester? If it is easier, I can make a separate records request for the file related to that request.
Best,
Brian

Aloha Mr. Black,
Thank you for your inquiry. The UIPA manager who handled the request in July 2023 is no longer with our office and is therefore unable to provide additional clarification regarding the estimated time. I can, however, confirm that the information recorded in the log for that request is consistent with the Notice to Requester that was issued at the time. Please let me know if you have any further questions, and I will do my best to investigate.

Mahalo nui for that information. For future reference when completing these forms, the UIPA log tracks time actually spent on a request, not the estimate. See page 13 of the OIP guidance (https://oip.hawaii.gov/wp-content/upl...). If the person who handled the request is no longer with the office, I understand that it may not be possible to clarify that specific request (although 300 hours of review on a single request completed in a month--as indicated in the chart--would be a startling accomplishment).
Thank you again for providing the log. I consider the request closed.
Best,
Brian
