Hello Viola, I understand that you have called our office yesterday and this morning to ask for this information. As you were informed, many of our staff are out of the office, including those who would have the information, and will be back next week. However, you mentioned that you need the information today for your story. May I please ask what your story is about and why you would need this statistic? I will need to know what the purpose is, and I'll also need to seek approval from my supervisor to release it. Also, if we are able to provide you with the information, would you be able to send a draft of the story before it is released? I will try my best to seek the data you need after hearing back from you. Dear Jan, I filed the request so that the numbers could be pulled when the relevant staff returns. UIPA requests are requests for information that the public are meant to be able to access, and they do not require an explanation of why the information is needed or a shared draft from journalists. I've filed the preliminary story, but would still like to see the number of minors sent out of state for due diligence and in the event of a follow-up. ... Thank you, Viola Gaskell
