Ms. << Name removed >> , We received your Uniform Information Practices Act (UIPA) request of February 26, 2021 for street sweeping schedule for 2021 for state roadways. You checked the box to attach a waiver request. No attachment was received. Please submit your waiver of fees request: WAIVER OF FEES IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST As an alternative to the $30 fee waiver (not in addition to), the agency may waive the first $60 of fees for searching for, reviewing and segregating records when the waiver would serve the public interest. If you wish to apply for a waiver of fees in the public interest, you must attach to this request a statement of facts, including your identity as the requester, to show how the waiver of fees would serve the public interest. The criteria for this waiver, found at section 2-71-32, Hawaii Administrative Rules, are (1) The requested record pertains to the operations or activities of an agency; (2) The record is not readily available in the public domain; and (3) The requester has the primary intention and the actual ability to widely disseminate information from the government record to the public at large. We will evaluate your waiver request. In lieu of a waiver request, you may submit payment of $20.00. The total fee for services is $50.00, however the first $30.00 of fees are automatically waived. Information will be released if the waiver of fees are approved or upon payment of $20.00. Sincerely, Stanley Louis, PE, MBA Engineer V HWY-O Highways Division, Oahu District 727 Kakoi Street Honolulu, HI 96819 (808) 831-6700 ext. 123

Ms. << Name removed >> , Please submit your request for waiver answering the three below questions for our review and evaluation of your waiver request. In your UIPA request, you checked the box that indicated you were attaching a request for waiver. There was no attachment. UIPA procedures are very strict and require the requestor to attach a statement of facts, including your identity as the requester, to show how the waiver of fees would serve the public interest. The fees for your UIPA request amount to $50.00. The first $30.00 of fees are waived. An approved waiver of fees up to $60.00 can be given if a waiver is approved. In lieu of a waiver request, you may submit payment of $20.00. Information will be released if the waiver of fees are submitted and approved or upon payment of $20.00. There is another option. Please formally withdraw your UIPA request. Please confirm that you still want to receive the 2021 Street Sweeping Schedule. After your UIPA request is withdrawn, the Schedules can be released and transmitted to you. Sincerely, Stanley Louis, PE, MBA Engineer V HWY-O Highways Division, Oahu District 727 Kakoi Street Honolulu, HI  96819 (808) 831-6700 ext. 123
