HI, Below is HPA's response to your questions. I am wondering if you are able to provide the reason for the individual returning to custody in 2025 under section (b). Violated conditions of parole. Out of curiosity, I am also wondering if you know why the two individuals were granted parole to early discharge in 2024. Per Hawaii Administrative Rules 23-700-51 (b), the Board has the discretion to grant an early discharge. I am also wondering if there is an additional department I should reach out to to obtain the information under section (e) regarding non-medical parolees. Please feel free to contact the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Additionally, if you are able to provide the average length of medical parole for 2022 to 2025 under section (c), that would be fantastic. The Hawaii Paroling Authority does not collect such data.
