Aloha Attorney General's Office, My UIPA request "Hawaii Attorney General Assistance to Department of Health Re Puna Geothermal Ventures" (04/28/2024) was denied due to "attorney-client privilege". I am asking you to reconsider the request. I am not asking for any work product or inside information. I am asking how much the TAXPAYERS of the State of Hawaii have paid the Attorney General to represent the State of Hawaii Department of Health in matters relating to a for-profit entity, Puna Geothermal Venture. It must be very significant to make the list for the legislature - and it needs to be disclosed how much money was spent from 2015 through now to assist the Department of Health to deny the Puna residents a contested case, not once, but twice in 7 years. The general public needs to know this answer to determine if it is worth the money expended. Mahalo, Sara Steiner
