Aloha Ms. << Name removed >> , Your public-records request made under Chapter 92F, HRS, was for copies of the "audited financial statements of the [National] Kidney Foundation of Hawaii for fiscal years ended 6/30/21, 6/30/22, and 6/30/23." This request was denied because the Legislature has mandated that audited financial statements cannot be disclosed under Chapter 92F. Under Hawaii law, "audited financial statements submitted by registered charitable organizations shall be confidential under chapter 92F." HRS 467B-8; see also HRS 92F-13(4) ("Government records which, pursuant to state or federal law including an order of any state or federal court, are protected from disclosure" are not subject to UIPA disclosure requirements).
