Law used:
State of Hawaii UIPA
Status of this request:
Request awaits classification
Summary of Request
Dear Records Coordinator, Under the Uniform Information Practices Act, HRS Chapter 92F, I request copies of the following records maintained by the State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD) concerning the Iroquois Point Beach Nourishment and Stabilization project at Iroquois Point / Kapilina Beach Homes, ʻEwa, Oʻahu. I have kept this request narrow to limit search and reproduction effort. 1. The Archaeological Inventory Survey. The Archaeological Inventory Survey of Iroquois Point prepared by International Archaeological Research Institute, Inc. (Carson, 2007), together with any SHPD acceptance or review correspondence concerning that survey, under HRS Chapter 6E and HAR Chapter 13-275/13-284 as applicable. 2. The Section 106 / Chapter 6E review file. SHPD's review file for this undertaking, including the September 21, 2007 SHPD/SHPO concurrence letter (referencing the five stipulations for protection of historic properties), any determination of effect, and related correspondence with the U.S. Navy / NAVFAC, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and the Oʻahu Council of Hawaiian Civic Clubs. 3. Any Cultural Impact Assessment prepared for or submitted in connection with this undertaking, if held by SHPD. Confidentiality note. I am aware that precise archaeological site and burial locations may be protected from disclosure. I do not object to redaction of specific site coordinates or burial-location data; I ask that all reasonably segregable, non-exempt portions be released, and that any withholding identify the statutory basis (e.g., HRS § 6E-43.5 or the federal Archaeological Resources Protection Act). Please let me know the anticipated timeframe for a response under HRS § 92F-11 and OIP rules. I am happy to clarify or narrow any item. Thank you.
