State of Hawaii UIC Program: In reference to the May 12, 2025, letter to Puna Geothermal Venture, the State of Hawaii Environmental Management Division, Chief Joanna L. Seto, P.E. mentions a letter sent on February 20, 2025 to PGV regarding their UIC Permit UH-1529, specifically PGV was not to use KS-21 until receiving an updated permit or letterhead allowing use. Please provide the following electronic files relating to this matter: 1. A copy of the February 20, 2025 letter to PGV. 2. A copy of PGV’s permit application to inject into KS-21. 3. Copies of any and all correspondences between PGV/Jordan Hara/Ron Quesada/Alissa Sanchez, Nathan Gardner (including letters from their attorneys) and Iris van der Zander, Ph.D. (or anyone at State of Hawaii Clean Water Branch “CWB”) relating to KS-21 from January 1, 2023, to July 5, 2025. 4. Copies of any correspondences between the US EPA Region 9, including David Albright or Kaylee Ball and the CWB relating to PGV KS-21 from January 1, 2023, to July 5, 2025. 5. Copies of any correspondences between Phillip Nigro, Geologist (or anyone else at State of Hawaii DLNR) and the CWB relating to PGV KS-21 from January 1, 2023, to July 5, 2025. 6. Copies of any correspondences between Dale Sakata, Joanna Yeh (or anyone at Hawaii Attorney General’s office) and the CWB relating to PGV KS-21 violation from February 20, 2025 to July 5, 2025.
