Places of Deposit Daily Summary and Chain of Custody Documentaion

Request to:
Office of the City Clerk
Law used:
State of Hawaii UIPA
Status of this request:
Request asleep
Summary of Request
I hereby request in electronic format the following: 1. Places of deposit (ballot collection boxes, aka "drop boxes") daily summary for the 2022 Primary election which shows the number of ballot envelopes retrieved from each collection box from the first date of collection through the final date of collection. 2. Chain of Custody documentation for each place of deposit for each date that ballots were collected for the 2022 Primary election, this would be the paperwork which has the initials or signatures of employees who emptied the ballot collection boxes, the date and time ballots were collected, and any other documentation included on your internal paperwork that documents ballot envelope pickup from the collection boxes. Please refrain from making paper copies of electronically available records (e.g., excel spreadsheets) in order to charge for copying fees. This appears to be a deliberate action intended to discourage citizens from obtaining records. I have previously sent identical UIPA requests to all 4 county clerks and the Honolulu City Clerk office is the only office which makes paper hard copies of electronic records. If requested records are not available in electronic format please state the reason in your response.
