The Planning Department does not have any subdivisions that were strictly created for cluster mailboxes and does not have any requirements to provide mailbox facilities. For large subdivisions, the Planning Department informs the developer/subdivider to contact the United States Postal Services (USPS) for mailbox facility requirements and mailbox locations. A developer/subdivider may create easements and/or areas within private roadways to accommodate the necessary facilities during the subdivision process, but that is at the discretion of the developer.
Mailbox facility locations may be determined prior to a subdivision if required during the approval of a discretionary permit like a change of zone. Any mailbox conditions contained within the approval of the discretionary permit would be determined by the developer in compliance with USPS requirements.
