For large subdivisions, the Planning Department informs the developer/subdivider to contact the United States Postal Services (USPS) for mailbox facility requirements and mailbox locations. A developer/subdivider may create easements and/or areas within private roadways to accommodate the necessary facilities during the subdivision process, but that is at the discretion of the developer. Mailbox facility locations may be determined prior to a subdivision if required during the approval of a discretionary permit like a change of zone. Any mailbox conditions contained within the approval of the discretionary permit would be determined by the developer in compliance with USPS requirements.
