Aloha Rene, Please advise the requester that the aquarium fishing and dealer reports for the Month of May are still being submitted by fishers and dealers and the staff will be able to process these reports by the end of this month. The summary reports for May should be ready by next month. Would you wait until July to file the request again or modify it now? Thank you. Bin C. Dear Bin, I'll modify the request so that it's through April, not May. But that does raise a question. Isn't the requirement for the reports to be filed by the 10th? It seems common that the reports are not filed on time. Is DLNR handling this through the CRVS? Sincerely yours Rene Umberger

Hi Rene, It's one thing that some fishermen may file their reports late. The other is staff will need a few days to process the data and produce the statistics. For management consideration, they may not perform that task until the end of the reporting month. That's why we won't have the May report until sometime in July. If you do need the May data anyway, would you consider we delay the request until July? Bin C. Dear Bin, Yes, that's fine. I would, however, appreciate receiving the reported catch data now (from a separate request). ... Sincerely yours Rene Umberger

Aloha Rene, In regard to your three record requests that are still pending with us, I want to inform you that we'll need some additional time to process due to several reasons. Our Commercial Marine Licensing System is currently undergoing a systemic renovation which entails a sizable change work. The new system is being tested and deployed at this time, and will be in place in July. Staff is currently working full time on this project and other priority and routine tasks. As you know, your requests require some statistical work because there is no readily available record to produce. Staff needs to create the statistic files according to the criteria you provided. As such, we'll need some time to work on them and will see some delays. We expect to respond in early July. In the meantime, if you want to modify or consolidate your requests, you can always do that. We also prefer you group all the requests into a single one so that we can take care of it in one attempt. Thank you for your understanding. Let me know if you have any questions. Bin C. Dear Bin, I understand. July is fine for the majority, but right now -- by next week -- I need the catch data for April. No. of licensees; no. kept; no. sold; value; for Oahu, W. Hawaii and State (including Kauai and E. Hawaii). Is that possible? ... Sincerely yours Rene Umberger
